Can I use my Enhanced Driver's license to Move to cross into Mexico and go to Mexico City without a passport?

I have read about the Western Travel Initiative and that only addresses entry back into the U.S. That is not what I care to know about. Instead, I am only interested in knowing if Mexico currently accepts Enhanced Driver's Licenses that comply with the aforementioned initiative.

Also, I am planning to move to Mexico City, so that is far beyond the border cities, which seem to have less restrictions than cities that are beyond the 12-mile limit.

I am planning to make this move the La Cuidad de Mexico (Mexico City) by Greyhound bus from Denver Colorado using online my REAL ID Enhanced Driver's License (it has a star in the upper right corner of the card).

Will I be allow to continue my travel? Why do I have no passport? I just have been so busy doing other things that I just kept putting it off. Then on the day that I did go to post office to apply I came too late AND I mistakenly let my birth certificate at home. I was taken aback with fury and angst.
