since you're quoting from Deuteronomy you will also be aware that there are countless other examples of Mosaic law wanting to eliminate any rival spiritual beliefs and practices,or you would be if you'd read it in context and from a good and reliable translation supported by academic and scholarly research.

When people start acting like the particular piece of the Laws of Moses are the only way to live I stop listening, because they clearly miss the point of the Law.
