    I would assume many emergency departments have at least one room dedicated for mental health, if a patient came in with thoughts of suicide etc. I used to volunteer at an ER that had one.

    Most people don't go to an emergency room with psychiatric problems. They go to a psychiatrist or mental health facility. If someone came in saying they were crazy they would be evaluated, possibly medicated, possibly sent to the hospital psychiatric ward or referred to a psychiatrist.
