Well, we are commanded not to take communion unworthily, so there is a wrong time for someone to take communion. We are to examine ourselves and make our peace with God if we are willfully sinning. So I would say it is right for all church goers to have access to communion, but not right to say that all should.

St Paul had some fairly strong words to say on this subject:

"Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgement on himself." [1 Cor 11:27-29]

The point of this is that going to church is not a sufficient criteria. A person must 'discern the body' (ie, recognise that what they are receiving is the body of Christ, not just bread) and be able to receive in a worthy manner. A person who does not believe communion to be what it is, or who is unworthy through being enmeshed in a serious and unrepented sin, cannot rightly receive communion.

You would have to check with the requirements of the denomination. Some have open communion for all those who have been baptized. Some have closed communion which is only for those of that denomination who are in a state of grace.

I know of no denomination that allows all those who simply come to church to take communion.

It is right for anyone who professes to follow Jesus, or who shows a desire to.

I once attended an assembly where I was told that I was not worthy to participate because I wasn't one of the 12 tribes of Jewish decent they called The 144,000 chosen ones as mentioned in the scriptures. Doesn't read that way to me.

Depends on where you're going. Some denominations practice open communion (everyone can participate), while others practice closed communion (only members participate).

The ones who practice closed communion just want to make sure you understand what it means to them. It's not because they're being jerks.
