    It's not a sentence fragment because is has a subject and a verb, and it forms a complete thought.

    No, it's not a fragment. It's an independent clause, meaning it can stand on its own as a sentence. But as Pat said, starting a sentence with a conjunction is frowned upon by some people. (See what I did there?)

    It's not a fragment, but you should not begin a sentence with the word "but." Hope this helps.
