Elton John is quite a long way from being the People's anything. He is an arrogant and short-tempered man who has been utterly spoiled by money and fame.
The fact that he is gay is incidental.

No, to both...... Diana was never my People's Princess (that was an idea promoted by Blair!), and calling her that has nothing to do with Elton John's sexual preferences.

Elton John is the most talentless performing artist in the world, he didn't even write any lyrics, he just played piano to lyrics written by somebody else. Some of them were good and some of them were terrible but none of them were actually thought up by him, and candle in the wind was one of the bad ones. It was for Marilyn Monroe at first anyway, and then he changed it a bit to jump on the bandwagon in 1997. It was a sickening performance and I'm a Diana fan by the way.
