I've been of the opinion that Raw has some great star power but doesn't know what to do with half of them. Meanwhile, on Smackdown, every single one of the names listed, save Rusev who hasn't debut on TV yet, are involved in a major storyline. That's saying something when you consider where guys like Corbin, Harper, and even Orton were prior to the initial draft career wise. Corbin wasn't a contender, Harper was a lackey, and Orton was barely on television. Even Dolph had a brief rise in stock due to Smackdown allowing him to be a work rate guy against Miz. AJ wouldn't be anywhere near the main even scene, and Sami went from curtain jerking to facing AJ and Corbin in the main event immediately because Smackdown understands that people care about Sami vs Owens.

On Raw's side of things you have Joe whose been scarcely used, a feud between Strowman and Roman that's supposed to give Reigns babyface sympathy that isn't panning out, Brock whose barely there and is the equivalent of a unicycle riding circus bear when he shows up: one trick. Jericho's about to disappear again, but so is Cena so I'll tie the two. I don't have hope for Miz or Dean's chances on Raw, especially if they're getting stuck together. Raw isn't a respecter of midcard titles. Bray seems zeroed in on Finn, but has no family and is pretty short on wins, not to mention Finn just got concussed by Jinder Mahal which may see him on the shelf again.

My point is that Smackdown will always win out because despite what you hand them they're going to use it and try to mold it into gold. Raw may have more star power in Brock, Roman, and Jericho, but two of those names are going to fade in and out, and rumor is that Roman's being kept off of weekly TV until Payback. Braun's amazing, but I wont be surprised if the fandom turns on him eventually. Seth and Finn are stars but there are pictures of them sitting side by side in hospital beds floating around on the net and that's not a ringing endorsement for reliability. Maybe Miz, Bray and Joe will catch a break since the show's devoid of three major stars but I doubt it. I mean, how is it that a two hour show with a twenty something minute post show can accomplish more than a three hour show that constantly goes over?

Raw has the better roster overall when considering mic and wrestling aptness. Kevin Owens is the only guy on Smackdown's roster that has the mic skills mandatory to play heel or face. Raw has two mic legends in Jericho

and Paul Heyman, along with great developing mic talent like Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt.
