My bearded dragon cage isn t getting hot enough?

I just got a baby bearded dragon a few days ago, and am having trouble getting his cage hot enough. I have a 40 gallon terraninum. I have been using a 100 watt zilla bulb, I thought the bulb might be bad so bought another one and did not solve the problem. The warm side of the cage is at only about 82-84 and his basking spot about 90ish. Help please

I'm going to be completely honest here, I don't know anything about beardies, but normally, a reptile cage does not need to be completely heated. You need a hot spot with hot rock with heat lamp where that spot gets to about 90F. The cooler part of the cage is more or less irrelevant. You also need a UV light and a water dish that your beardie can easily get into a out of and soak if he chooses.
