Food is canned so that it will last for a very long time, decades. I regularly use canned foods that have been in my cupboard for 4-5 years and it's all fine.
I just found some tomato sauce that's 14 yrs old and I threw it out. I guesss that's where I draw the line.

For one, why's this question even being asked?
For two, why is it being asked in the Computer Hardware Desktop section?
You know, there's this thing that was invented a long time ago called the garbage can. They sell them at Walmart. Once a week a garbage man comes in a big stinky truck to collect your unwanted trash. You should try using it, they work great.

In most cases yes.Open one and have a look/taste.if doesn't look or taste right then don't eat it. Alot of food expiry dates mean nothing. The mfg's want you to throw it away and buy more.

check the expiration date but if it doesnt have one you can try it to see if it tastes 'normal' to you or otherwise it's best to just throw it out. And i think it's safe just to throw it out with the rest of your trash.
