    The change in position is equal to the area under the curve

    .. (-5 cm/s)*(4 s) = -20 cm

    That is, 20 cm to the left.

    since the particle's position is constant at -5 cm between t=0 and t-4 sec, the change in position is 0 cm

    all that I can see is that the velocity is constant....but I know it is > - 5 but it could also be > 0 ......if > 0 then moving right , if 0 then particle is at rest , if < 0 then moving left ...
