  • I’m scared of dogs but I want one?

    I’m scared of all animals. Something about a living thing that isn’t human touching me gives me a funny and terrifying feeling, even baby bunnies. But, I have been considering getting a dog because of the incriedble amount of love and loyalty they give. Of course, I will find the most relaxed and chill breed of dog and I will get a puppy so that I can get used to them when they are in their most vulnerable state. Also, they will know me as mom and never hurt me. Do you think this is a good plan that will allow me to enjoy the company of a dog while also terminating my fear of them?

  • How to turn black hair into honey brown?

    I have pretty dark (black) hair and regular hair dyes do nothing for me. I can’t bleach my hair because it will get damage beyond repair. If I use a bright blonde hair dye, do you think it will show up honey brown? For reference, regular light brown hair dyes gives my hair a barely visible red hue. The color really doesn’t stay on my hair. Will going extremely light give me the brown I want?

  • Is there any way to become taller?

    I'm 5'1 and my height never really bothered me until recently. I was thinking about if I were to get into a fight or if a robber broke in, my height alone has no intimidation and I would probs get my butt kicked. Also the girls at my university are super tall and I feel like an irrelevant ant standing next to them. I wanna be able to walk with long strides and make people feel intimidated. Right now I take munchkin steps and i feel like a joke. The yogurts/fruit cups at my dinning halls are on high shelves and I always wanna get them but I can never reach, but other girls can get them without a problem- bish i wanna do that too!!! Is there surgery to make people taller or are there any illusions I can do to appear taller?

  • Can i cook chicken in en electrical kettle?

    The chicken is already fully cooked, it s those Tyson ones that you buy in the frozen section. I took the chicken out and its not longer frozen...just cold. Would I break my kettle if I turned it on without any water in it?

  • What is this British show called?

    It's pretty old, I remember watching it in middle school and I'm in college now. I think it was on the BBC network channel and it was sort of a reality show/documentary. They would take groups of teenagers who would go on adventures for a set amount of time, for the purpose of exploring the world/learning. The episode I'm thinking about had a teenager named Will, and his group was to climb Mount Everest I think? Or some really high, cold, mountain. Other episodes included really hot places where they would build stuff. I think they built like a fence or something or an animal sanctuary. DOES ANYONE KNOW THIS SHOW?! ):

  • What is the universal age of consent?

    I was just watching the Steve Wilkos show and the episode was about a 31 year old woman who was engaged to a 17 year old boy. They've only been together for a month and to make things worse, she used to baby sit him and change his diapers. Isn't this illegal? Shouldn't he be considered a child until he reaches 18?

    It started off as a bump but I think it burst on its own and now I feel extremely sharp pain almost constantly. It’s the worst when I try to eat. I looked online and it says these things lasts 2 weeks. I CANNOT BEAR TWO WEEKS OF THIS. Can I like, put a bandage on it? Are there any tips to reduce the pain? Ibuprofen doesn’t really do much

  • If I get paid 40 cents a min, and I work for 1 hour, how much money would I receive?

    If I get paid 40 cents a min, and I work for 1 hour, how much money would I receive?

    .40 X 60= $24, right?

    Considering I work 8 hours in a week, I would make

    24 X 8 = $192, right?

    How much would I make in a month if I work 8 hours a week then?

    192 X 4 = $768, right?

    Please check my math, this is important

    This pertains to iPhones. I want to listen to YouTube music while browsing other apps. After I put a song on, I press the home button, I swipe up to access the control panel, and I press play...but it turns on my Music playlist that's built in to the phone. Any suggestions?

  • Java question about split() method?

    Suppose an external file is made up entirely of integers. In the model we've been using in this unit, the file is actually read in, line by line, as a sequence of Strings. Use String method split inside processLine() to produce individual tokens that look like numbers, but are actually Strings that are composed of digits. To convert each token from String format to integer format, you need to use the static parseInt() method from the Integer class. Thus,

    int birthYear = Integer.parseInt("1983");

    correctly stores the integer 1983 into the birthYear integer variable.

    For this assignment you should create a complete processLine method in the EchoSum class, so that it transforms each number in each line to integer format, and then sums the entries on the line and prints their sum on a separate line. For example, if the external text file looks like this:

    1 2 3 4

    3 4 7 1 11

    2 3

    your program should display this:

    10

    26

    5

    import java.io.*;

    public class EchoSum extends Echo

    {

    public EchoSum (String datafile) throws IOException

    {

    super(datafile);

    }

    // This is my attempted code:

    public void processLine(String line){

    int sum= 0;

    StringTokenizer answer= new StringTokenizer(line);

    while(answer.hasMoreTokens()){

    int k = Integer.parseInt(answer.nextToken());

    sum+= k;

    System.out.println(sum);

    }

    I'm getting a compilation error saying that it could not find the symbol "StringTokenizer", and I think this is because our teacher wants us to use the split()
