I requested a week off at my job and this is what my boss said?

I asked him about taking off because i need to see my dad out of state for an emergency. He told me no that i had only been here for a month and he said that is i wanted to go i will no longer work there and told me to make a decision. i know thats true but i really need to go. The 2 managers are white am hispanic the one i asked he is like the nices and he said no. The other manager is like racist as **** so itll probably go worst by asking him. This is a auto repair shop i work for i always like to be in a place where i dont feel like they put my job in jeopardy , do you think am better of just leaving and than trying to find a new job?

I feel like they are not considering the amount of work i do for them. Like i hustle . What should i do guys in advance THANK YOU !

Only he would know they are racist. He works with them. If it's an emergency go....things happen, it's hard if you really need the job though.

it is not a good idea to be on the job for a month and already ask for time off

some employers expect a new hire to work a year before asking for time off, if you thought you were not going to be able to work as he needs you you should not have taken the job

  • This isn't a race thing. You haven't past their probation period (usually that lasts about 60-90 days), they're not going to let you go any where. That's policy for most workplaces. Usually you're not allowed to have time off when you first start a job.

Unless you have to go with your dad or you're not mature enough / old enough to be on your own while your dad is away, then you really don't need the time off.

You have only been there one month so you are easy to replace. Just quit and go see your Dad

On a new job, you can't miss time for ANY REASON for 90 days.

don't make a racist accusation out of this, you have been there a month and now want to take a week off, they don't have to hold your job, a body shop schedules work and expects people to show up and do it. they can just replace you, so go if you need to but you will lose your job

The only person placing their job in jeopardy, is you

A business needs reliable workers, an asking for time off is a privilege

It has nothing to do with race,

IF you can't commit to this job, then leave.

Race has nothing to do with it. They employed you to work and are not interested in your domestic life. Same with all jobs. Who is going to do your work when you are off?

You've not been there long enough to build up trust or a good working ethic.

What has race got to do with this? They are running a business, if you can't be there they need to find someone who can.
