Question about child support laws.?

a lot of people live modest lives without buying clothes and expensive stuff and entertainment every week. Why are the laws set up with such high payments?

Is it so the person contributes for the household like they normally would-is that what the laws are based on?

The amount of child support that someone is court-ordered to pay depends on that person's income. Someone who earns a lot of money will pay more child support than someone who earns very little.
