i was going to finance through my credit union and their interest is higher than the dealer ! have you had this issue before?

i thought that credit unions were suppose to be lower how is that the case?

he told me that he was going to have to do another credit pull once they decide to finance it...

That's why you comparison shop, credit unions aren't necessarily going to be less expensive.

Try a different credit union. Check around for the rates.

Go with the cheaper interest rate! The bank qualification is more stricter than finance company from auto dealer. Years ago a credit union offered me about a 4% lower interest rate the dealership was offering.

normally credit unions do offer lower interest rates but there is no law stating they have to be lower

if your dealer has a better deal by all means you have that choice

I never dealt with credit unions because they make a big deal out of everything. Just call 3 banks and whoever gives you the best deal, grab it,

of course, I've seen credit unions with a higher than a dealer rate.

I've never seen a credit union with 0%.

If you don't have an actual contract with a fixed rate, don't take the car off the lot.

The dealer did NOT give you a guaranteed rate. It will be higher.

What they tell you before you sign the paperwork might be a lot different than just before you sign the paperwork (when the financing is finalized).

Here's a red flag: "he told me that he was going to have to do another credit pull once they decide to finance it..."
