Can I still get into a good college with bad grades freshman year?

Hey guys, I want to discuss something that really frightens me.

First Semester freshman year of highschool, I got a terrible grade of 1.5 gpa, lowest I have ever gotten.

Right now as of 2nd semester, I have a B+ Average / A- Average.

What can I do, if possible, to get an average 3.7 gpa to get to my dream college? or did I blow my chances?

    Hi Jerry

    First semester in HS is irrelevant to almost every school in the USA except for the intensely competitive.

    However, the concept of "dream college" is such a cliche'. Time to grow out of that.

    I maybe wrong, but I believe most colleges do not look at your first year of high school. I believe it is only the last three they look at. But I could be wrong.
