Similar....both the most advanced civilizations of their time, both were great builders/ architects, both lasted a long time (especially Egypt), both were advanced in medicine and science, both made beautiful art/ jewelry.

Different....Greece was a seafaring society/ Egypt land and river society. Greece was disunited in warring city states/ and differing forms of govt./ Egypt united in 1 absolute monarchy. Greeks went much further afield moving by ships than Egypt moving by land. Greeks were much better in philosophy and politics. Greeks with ships had more and better trade/ merchants than Egypt. Greece was more warlike and better at war than Egypt.

There is a time span of about 4 millennia between the beginnings of the two.

Greek civilisation in that sense, is pseudo-ancient and definitely not a River Valley Civilisation like the four that preceded it by several millennia.
