Why do people think this guy is Biracial when both of his parents are Black, but consider this guy Black when he's actually Biracial?
Look at the link below: Why do people call that guy black but call the guy in the dark blue shirt Biracial and mixed-race.

both of his parents WERENT BLACK.
they may have been black looking but they were CARRIERS of white genes.
there are white recessive traits and there black dominant traits. recessive/dominant nature of genes has nothing to do with how you might use the words socially... its not stronger/weaker,it reflects HOW information in genes, the instructions to the body in how to build itself is TRANSFERRED.
you have a PAIR of genes that control every single trait. for each PAIR you have, one gene comes from your father, and one gene comes from your mother. dominant traits only need ONE gene to pass information along, recessive traits REQUIRE that a person have a PAIR of the same recessive genes.
when you have a pair of genes that consists of One black gene and One white gene. that white gene DOES NOTHING. information is not transferred to the body, instructions on how to make those white traits DONT physically manifest. a first biracial like obama is Literally 50 percent white... every pair of genes he has consists of one white and white black gene. but obama himself is "effectively" black, none of those white genes do a thing, obama is just a carrier.
some people can try to say...but his father was "very dark black", obama is lighter so those white genes "must" be doing something.
NO. again, dominant doesnt mean "stronger". obama inherited one gene for his skin color from his father, if obamas mother was black and he inherited a second black dominant gene for skin color from her. what would happen?
its not a "fight",the instructions from BOTH dominant genes would be followed. the gene from his father instructs his body to make x amount of melanin. a black mothers gene would have instructed his body to make an x amount of ADDITIONAL melanin. and then obama would have had that much darker skin.
when you have TWO black looking people... but who are carriers of white genes that DO NOTHING. when they have a kid, then you have the potentional for white traits to physically manifest. if that black looking father happens to pass along that one white gene he has in one of his pairs. and that black looking mother happens to ALSO pass along that one white gene she has in one of her pairs.then their kid, for that one trait will have a PAIR of the same recessive white genes, and its that kid that will physically develop that white trait...that their parents did NOT have because they didnt have a PAIR.
someone completley black looking can STILL be mixed, can still be a carrier, they dont show it because they dont have any same pairs of white genes. when two "black" people like this who are carriers has a kid, that kid can end up inheriting same pairs of white genes...and they are now literally, physically mixed looking...even though their parents werent. where obma's skin is a result of only having 1 dominant black gene. a mixed person has a bunch of different traits now effecting skin color.
the reverse is NOT true, white people can ONLY have white children...without exception. in order for a white person to "look white", it means that they ALREADY HAVE same pairs of white genes. its WHY they are what they are physically. when two white people have kids it DOESNT MATTER wich gene out of all the pairs they have that they pass along...because you already know they have same pairs of white genes.
and remember this... someone mixed wont neccessarily inherit recessive genes for SUPERFICIAL physical traits.
they can inherit all those black traits for skin/eyes/hair....but make "same pairs" of recessive genes for musculature, nervous system, bone structure etc..
someone with "bad luck" or "good luck" depending on your point of view.... can be predominantly white, but if they dont happen to make same pairs of recessive white genes for superficial physical traits, they will still "look" mostly black.

Perhaps "people" haven't met his parents or seen his DNA profile.
Source(s): Opinions are like rectums. Everyone has one, so "whatever." - Anonymous4 years ago
He is mixed because African Americans are mixed. He has mixed parents and he's mixed too.
@neo, because people are stupid.
