How can I pay this guy?
I lost my wallet while in a trip to Colorado. I have no money or whatsoever eccept a thick gold necklace of seven links. I went to this hotel in this small town and I asked the manager if I can stay explaining my situation and offering him one link of my necklace for each day. He accepted but with one condition: I CANNOT CUT THE NECKLACE MORE THAN TWICE!
How can I give him one link every day without cutting the necklace more than twice?
Remember! I cannot pay in advance and I cannot be late for my payment..ONE LINK A DAY!

with seven links you cut the links into 1 2 and 4 link units -- using two cuts...
that will get you every number from 1 to 7

Yes it is the cut but not the right answer. You needed to answer to how i am going to pay!
one link the first day
second day, I take that like link back and give him two links..here are two cuts..no more cuts!
third day, I give that single link i gave him the first day
fourth day, I take all the links I have given him and I give four attached links
fifth day, I give hive him the link I gave him the first day
sixth day, I'd give him the two attached link and I'd take the single one back
The seventh, I'd pay him off by giving him the last link.
