Fender bass pickups in Hofner?

Is this even possible? If so would the Hofner then sound more like a Fender bass? I love the look and feel of a Hofner and love the hollow undertone it has, would this be a plausible idea?

TU to Tony. Also, I'd grab a graphic EQ before I started messing with pickups.

You don't tell us what type of Hofner bass you have or what type of Fender pickups you want to fit.

If your bass is a copy of a Fender bass then similar Fender pickups will probably be a straight swap. Otherwise a lot of work will be needed.

Will it make it sound like a Fender? Probably not but, like I say, you don't tell us anything about the bass. If it's a decent copy of, say, a Fender Precision then I'd expect it to sound pretty much like a Fender anyway. If it has completely different type of pickups then fitting Fender pickups should make it sound more like a Fender.
