It sounds like the outlet and charger cable are good, but the laptop does not recognize that it is plugged in. This could come from needing a new battery, or needing a new port that the cable plugs into.

If there is a local windows store around, I would take it to them. If not, see if there is a reputable repair shop around. I am not a person who is willing to take apart a computer to try to fix it, I would rather find somebody who can. If you are not like me and not wanting to find someone who can do the work for you, you can watch youtube videos to find out how to figure out what is broken, and then how to fix it.

If it just happened, try removing the battery and see if it is hot. The Charging System will not charge an overheated battery. Leave the battery out till it cools down. This will give you a chance to run the laptop on the AC only to see if it is working.

    Things to check

Is the AC source good? Plug a lamp into the same socket to test it.

Does the adapter have a green led that shows when it is receiving power? Look at it

Is the jack plug on the end of the adapter damaged? Look at it

Is the jack on the laptop damaged? It will be woobly if you have jerked it and cracked the housing. By the way, it can break internally and this is common. Watch youtube videos on how to replace a bad jack.

Is the battery properly installed? Inspect and re-install it.

Doe the laptop show that the charger is attached? The lights change when contact is made.
