Hotels operate 365 days a year and employees who are scheduled to work on that holiday you mentioned and other holidays as well.

Also, they would receive holiday pay as well.

Some do and some do not.

Hotels are staffed for every day.

Some staff have the day off.

    Same procedures for EVERY HOLIDAY.

In most cases those that work will either get paid extra or get an extra day off at some other time.

Just the way it is when you are open 24/7

Something like the restaurant in the Hotel may have reduced hours for the Holiday. Allowing some staff a day off. Usually a business traveller type of place.

At a place Family oriented they may need extra staff for the holiday.

Every Hotel is not identical in their needs for staff when there is a Holiday.

There are less business travellers the week with a holiday.

    More family travellers.

  • No, some people may get the day off if they book it off in advance. You may get payed time and a half if you work on a major holiday.

Hotels are usually busy on holidays so they need people to work on them.

Someone has to work as they are open 24/7. They may get extra pay, however, for working the holiday.
