Will hair dye even out my hair color? I lightly bleached my hair but my hair grew out.?

Update:

My hair is a bit on the brassy brown side but my natural hair color is black. I'm planning on dying my hair chestnut brown but curious if my hair would turn out the same but different tones of brown.

No. When you have different colors in your hair and you put dye over it some parts are darker than others and is still uneven lighter hair takes dye better and will be more vibrant. Best bet is to bleach whole head and dye whole head your natural color or dye it a darker color where the unevenness isn't really visible. Hope this helps :)
