Why are bigger apartments cheaper?

I am looking for an apartment in Memphis. I am comparing prices at several locations, and I have noticed something odd. All of the larger apartments are listed for lower prices. For example, a studio apartment is $1000+ but a four bedroom two bath is $595. How is this possible? Why is this?

They are in different neighborhoods, or there is some other disadvantage in the larger apartments. Or the manager doesnt want to rent to you and is upping the price.

that is either a mistake/typo or there is something seriously wrong with that unit. The likely left off a 1 and the rent is 1595

Ask the apartment manager. Why would we know since the cost of renting is normally determined by the location of the apartments, the age of the apartments, what amenities they offer - or don't offer, and the square footage.

Where I live there are three factors which determine cost - 1) Which floor the apartment is on -the higher up you go the more the apartments cost.

    2) Square feet. My complex has 1 bedroom apts (two different floor plans - one is larger and therefore more costly than the other), 2 bdrm with den, 2 bdrm only and 3 bedrooms.

    3) The lender is requiring management to charge more per unit (or so they say) to be more in line with what comparable complexes are now charging.

They are all charging more in my city because private housing isn't keeping up with need and there is greater demand for apartments.

    Different neighborhoods most likely.

Size is just ONE factor of DOZENS that affect the price of rent. LOCATION is the #1 factor.....by far. The more expensive one is probably in a much better area than the cheaper/larger one.
