Can only saved people doubt their salvation?

After my doubts started happening, I talked to two preachers and a few friends of mine who are saved people and every single one of them told me that it's only possible for saved people. They each told me this "you can't doubt what you don't have" and I want to know other Christians opinions on this.

Of course you can doubt what you don't have. It applies to faith as well as to temporal things.

That's why it's so important for a Christian to stay focused on the intended goal.

[1 Peter 5:8] Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Satan works very hard to seduce everyone; he knows that it leads to desperate, depressive and doubtful feelings; and once he has created this atmosphere, he can put disgusting and hateful things into our minds.

The snares of the enemy are beautified with just enough "truth and goodness" (mixed with lies), so that it seems desirable. Because no one would believe him if he started out with clear blatant lies? No, he is not *that* stupid.

This is how I test myself: If the characteristics of [2 Timothy 1: 7], which God poured into my soul, are absent or damaged (when something does not look right), then I have to take a moment to re-evaluate myself, to ensure that God is still at the top of my priority list. So that His love, power and self-control, become part of me again.

    Edit:

While we are still on the journey, we are heading for glory.

[Hebrews 12:1-2] Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

[2 Timothy 2:5] An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

The statement they make, "You can't doubt what you don't have," is utter nonsense.

At the same time, doubt is something we all experience from time to time, even doubt about the most basic faith issues.

In any case, keep a very careful watch on what these persons say to you, as I feel they either have a poor grasp of what faith is, or they do not mean well in the first place. I don't know which, but in either case, they are bad news. Keep them at a distance.

People don't doubt what they have. For example, I have $xxx millions and I don't doubt that I have those (in properties, stocks & bonds and in cash).

    No one is permanently saved...

(Zephaniah 2:3) Seek Jehovah, all you meek ones of the earth, Who observe his righteous decrees. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably you will be concealed on the day of Jehovah’s anger.

And the ' saving' part is from Jehovah's anger...His patience will have run out.

No. You can doubt if you only BELIEVE you're saved, even though you're really not.

Sounds right. You don't miss what you don't have. I think they are spot on.

Remember the surety that we have in knowing that the Holy Spirit dwells in our heart. At times when we doubt he will remind us. If you don't have the Spirit of God you do not belong to him. Read Romans 8.
