Why are they talking about Super Mario on a radio show about international finance?
I know Nintendo has a new Mario game coming out sometime soon and that the success or failure of a flagship title can affect the fate of a large multinational company, but on this radio show about global economics and finance they're talking like the entire international economic order depends on Super Mario. They say that what happens with Super Mario will determine the course of world finance. Why the heck would they say that?

Everyone knows Super Mario. But only the financial guys could achieve the highest point.

Because Video Game Industry is a business. Ex. Gears of Wars is a billion dollar franchise. Unbelievable right? Well its true, and they need to treat something that makes that much money with importance.
