I want to try having two motorcycles?

Right now I have a 2007 Kawasaki 650R Ninja. It only has 2,100 miles. I also want to buy a 1998 Harley Dyna with only 11,000 miles. Both bikes are in mint condition. I have free parking for both bikes but outside. For insurance it would be an extra $600 per year. I thought I would try to swing it because the maintenance costs will be low for a few years.

Thank you.

Big deal - not. Many people have two or more bikes. So what? You have not asked a question.

    Knock yourself out.

Get covers if they are going to be sitting outside.

SO, 2 motorcycles is something to think about? When you run out of fingers and toes to count them, then you may have a problem, have to call yourself a collector or dealer- or pack rat. Large Harley for tours, rally appearance and a mid size for general running around is a bare start. My main collection/pack rat nest was dispursed few year back- but still have old Goldwing and a 400cc, 650cc that were prepped and ridden before may day. Oldwings had battery charged overnight 3 days back, setting next to it in garage and if lucky will be on road sunday afternoon. Insurance for multiple vehicles drops per unit in many companies, does for me . Alternate riding spreads out maintenance cost- don't need to take one to dealer for fast but expensive service, can get the oil and filter, minor damaged in parking lot falls (and go into ditch to dodge cage incidents) parts for one while riding other, do most wrenching yourself. Garages and storage lockers can be rented- think of that as 'out of sight' insurance to deter vandals and thieves. Harley can be attractive nuisance- attract thieving nuisance, might have to chain hungry pit bull to Harley over night, bring puppy treats with you in morning. If you find puppy not hungry, some bloodstains near bike, well chewed boot with part of foot still in it-- then say good dog and get pup out of town until ruckus dies down and tell police to check hospital ER, get lawyer to be ready to file tresspass complaint , animal abuse complaint for feeding puppy contaminated meat, obvious Mala Carne'.
