If Russia is socialist and everyone is equal, why do Russian wages differ?

We thought everyone in Russia from the doctor to the garbage man made the same wage. But it appears there are many billionaires in Russia. How is that possible?

You should find out more about what the USSR wa, what Russia is.....and what SOCIALism is, as it is practiced in many modern countries (to a point). Zero to do with the old USSR model......and very very far away from the total US form of GREED.

Russia has a capitalist economy, not socialist. Where do you get your ideas?

You missed the fall of the Soviet Union, didn't you? Russia is now officially a capitalist country with an elected leader. In fact, however, Putin is a dictator, and the economic system is like the one Republicans are pushing in the US- everything for the rich business owners, nothing for the working class.

Russia is not socialist, the ex-Soviet Union was socialist (actually communist), when the Soviet Union fell, the remaining parts chose their own systems. Russia is crony capitalism, much like the USA.

First, you're thinking of communism. Second, Russia is a kleptocracy and always has been.

Socialism is practiced in some very advanced countries. It's a valid system that we should fully embrace, instead of just having some social elements.

    Russia is NO longer socialist.

    It is now a kleptocracy.
