cultural appropriation?

So recently I have delved deep into my ancestry and I never really cared too much until now. So apparently I'm about 1/3 Filipino, 1/0 Chinese , 1/10 Spanish on my Mothers side and 1/4 English and a 1/4 French on my Fathers side. But the thing is I'm absolutely fascinated by my Chinese Ancestry which I know is a rather small percentage. Im much more interested in it then anything else. I'm even considering learning Mandarin and getting rather heavily into Chinese culture and History. But it's weird cause I've never really been too enthusiastic about any of my other ethnicity's even though I'm proud of them just not super ecstatic about them. Cause I always thought people like weaboos and what not were really stupid since they will never be Japanese or even Asian. Why do I feel in a way bad/stupid about it?

I answered your question yesterday, but in case you didn't see it, here it is again:

You feel bad because you are getting attached to the Chinese part of you, despite it only taking up 1/16 of your heritage.

As for your question, “Is this cultural appropriation?” Here is what I have to say on the “issue.”

"Cultural appropriation" was created by hypocrites who want to use other people's cultures and yet exclude anyone else from using their own culture.

People are trying to make it an issue and they are hypocrites, because they usually culturally appropriate, by the same standards, another culture at the same time they are accusing another group of people of appropriating their or another's culture.

I find it ridiculous, for example, to see a non-white person speaking English, dressed in white people clothes, living in a Western/white society, and then accusing a white person of cultural appropriation.

Just ignore it. It's not an issue. People are trying to make it an issue because they have nothing better to do. I don't believe in cultural appropriation. Culture is meant to bring people together and for us to admire and share with each other. If you are not disrespecting the cultural element itself or the cultural to which it belongs, then I do not see the problem with borrowing from another culture. Culture should NOT be reserved for people with genetic ties to people who used it first. That's so stupid.

If you just ignore it, it's not a problem. There's no laws thankfully against "cultural appropriation," so you shouldn't worry about it at all. It's a ridiculous concept.

To use another people's culture is only wrong when you are using it while making fun of them or insulting them or mocking them, or something like that, or if you take someone's culture and try to claim it's yours.

    Hope I helped.

Why would you imagine that we would know why you feel that way, when we don't know you at all, in the slightest?

You can't be 1/3rd something, nor can you be 1/10th something. Those are impossible fractions genealogically.

In no generation do you have 3 or 10 ancestors. You have 2,8,16,32,64,128 ect....

So apparently you haven't delved into your ancestry at all, but are merely going by family folklore.

btw...you aren't any of those fractions of nationalities. You are not your ancestors. Yes, go explore their culture and history, but do it by contacting your actual relatives.

btw...please ignore Alex's famous racist hateful views. I've debated with him before he blocked me, and he can't even describe what he calls "white people clothes". (since most of his are made of cotton, a native american fabric, and made of dyes from foreign countries, and probably made entirely overseas) He just likes to spout his version of reality. And his opinion that he's entitled to every aspect of everyone else's culture? Bullsh*t. Pure and simple. Both in the ethical, moral, and legal sense. (he should google what happened to Urban Outfitters when they tried to misappropriate some navajo cultural designs)
