How often do you experience accidental ricochets when shooting?

Whether it's hunting, target shooting, etc. I've heard stories about ricochet shots hitting themselves or other people, so I just wanna know how common or rare this is.

I have shot thousands of rounds at a variety of hard targets, steel, rocks, etc. I have never seen one ricochet directly back at the shooter. I would say it is very rare. I have seen shotgun pellets bounce back closer than I would like, but I have never been hit by one or seen someone have it happen.

I shoot the f out of steel from 15 to 100 yards with 22, 9mm, 45 and 223. Never once have i had a ricochet.

I have designed and set up my plates with about a 15 degree angle to send bullet fragment up and continue down range.

Ricochets, although not unheard rarely happen in my experience.

More than 1 ricochet would be extremely rare. Having a series that resulted in the bullet coming back toward the shooter is probably impossible.

I had a ricochet hit my ex wife the other day. See it bounced off the bathroom door and must have ricocheted to hit her.
