Why is my shift indicator Showing R for reverse but the shift stick itself is in the park position and how can I adjust it?
I replaced a shift linkage bushing that had broken on my 2002 GMC Envoy and now the cable is not shifting right every time I try to put it park it sticks in reverse and then I cant shift it out of reverse without getting out of my SUV and shifting into park by hand notice the shift cable has and bend or in it when this happens also wondering if that supposed to happen I add pics if it will help answer my question

I notice the rubber insulation has broken lose from the **** cable this rubber tube not only protects the wire cable from dust and corrosion but it also prevents that loop you see in the cable it bounces the cable and rod forward into park from reverse , this helps
I hadn't been on here in a while but I see really childish people are still destroying what could be a really great help site smh oh yeah use zip ties to secure the rubber tubing to frame hold it place
