    Ezra was married to Nicole before Aria. Then, about a year or so after Nicole went missing and was assumed dead, he and Aria eventually got together. They dated a little, he proposed, and she accepted. Then it was found out that Nicole and all the other captives were alive and well. Ezra went (can't remember where they were) to see Nicole, and then she came home.

    Ezra and Aria's engagement was compromised when Aria became afraid that Ezra would leave her for Nicole. Ezra assured her that would not happen. Then it was compromised again when Aria started working with A.D. That was resolved and the season ends with (SPOILER ALERT) Ezra and Aria getting married.
