I'm new to the ketogenic diet?

I usually eat an apple before my workout (3 days in the morning, and 3 in the afternoon). A week ago I started the keto diet, but the apple I ate an apple this morning before my workout and it had 34g Carbs. Did that f*ck up ketosis?

    You can buy Ketostix from your local chemist (or online). They tell you whether there are ketones in your urine and therefore if you are in ketosis. I'm not sure how reliable they are, as I still eat a small amount of fruit, and can remain in ketosis (according to the sticks). If the apple is the only carby thing you eat though, you're still eating fewer carbs than the average person (Govt "health" officials recommend a whopping 300g a day, and 90g of sugar on top of that)!

  • Time to restart. I'm pretty sure if you weren't aware you can't eat fruit on a keto diet, you weren't in ketosis just yet! There are a million websites with the info you need - clearly laid out - why not look at one?
