Is binge drinking alcohol once a week and no alcohol at all during the week good?
I was 18 years old when I started binge drinking. I drank 16 shots of vodka in 4 hours approximately and sometimes more once a week. How much damage can one binge drinking session do? How long does it take for my body to fully recover from alcohol damage, is one week enough? I wasn't actually drunk when I drank that amount of alcohol but I was quite tipsy. How much damage does getting drunk once do? I think I can control the addiction of alcohol.

Only if you're not a chronic drinker.

No. You can do cumulative damage to your heart, liver, stomach, brain, and other organs. At your age, the brain is still developing, and is particularly vulnerable. There's also the immediate dangers of accident, alcohol poisoning, or plain drunken stupidity.

No, it isn't good. While one or two drinks a day, every day, probably isn't going to do any noticeable harm to most people, drinking a whole lot at once can do some damage because your body is--at least temporarily--overloaded with alcohol.

16 shots of vodka in 4 hours, especially when it's consumed by a teenager, is like asking for death in your thirties or fourties. Even if you don't drink during the week, all that alcohol has already done some damage to your liver. It's almost like smoking; all that smoke a person inhales can't be "reversed". This is a serious health issue for you. The main question to ask yourself, is why am I drinking such a large amount of alcohol? What is it that I'm trying to escape or get out of? If you tend to get depressed, do you believe the alcohol will "take care of it"? If you think you can control your alcohol consumption, the time to start is NOW. I've seen many people pass away at a very young age, due to major health issues from alcohol. If you can quit, you stand a better chance at living a long, healthy life. Good luck.

I once had a buddy that quit drinking Every Monday-only to binge on Saturday. He grew up normal.
