Do job recruiters even look at resume attachments anymore?

Most jobs I see posted you have to apply through an online job board where you have to copy the text of your resume and put it in a box and then you are given the option to add a word doc, pdf whatever of your actual resume. Whats the point if all the info is already there?

That is the point...the extra document is supposed to add to the information that's in the form. You've got it all wrong if you think it just duplicates information. EX: If you're interviewing for a computer programming job, put a sample of your last computer program; or if you're interviewing for a position where you're expected to do lots of creative writing, the Word document should be a page or two of your best manuscript.
