Jehovah's Witnesses: Why did Jesus have to wait 19 centuries before taking his throne?

Matthew 28:18,20 says, "Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: 'All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth...teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.'"

If Jesus had ALL AUTHORITY right after he was resurrected, why did he have to wait until 1914 to take his throne?

Update:

@grnlow: "Handling beliefs this way if believing ONLY what one could prove with the Bible lead to a vastly different set if beliefs from Christendom. With help from God's holy spirit, some Biblical understanding was revealed."

There are several Watchtower teaches that are definitely unbiblical, such as how and when one is baptized, so if they only used things provable from the Bible, why do people getting baptized have to "dedicate" themselves to an organization?

The whole 1914 thing is speculation about biblical prophecy in Daniel and Ezekiel of the end times. It is subject to interpretation and argument.

Unless you have the gift from the Holy Spirit of the interpretation of prophecy, your time is better spent following the will of the Lord every moment of every day.

Being a king, and "taking his throne/sit on his throne" to act as king of God´s universal kingdom are 2 different things.

From Pentecost 33 C.E., Christ has been ruling over his anointed disciples as the king of the kingdom of his Father´s love. (Col 1:13, Ac 17:6, 7) The latter is different from "the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ” which would be set up at the end of “the appointed times of the nations” over all mankind on earth.—Lu 21:24.

Bear in mind that the apostle Paul wrote about inheriting the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, the kingdom of the world, as a future event; and so did Jesus. (Cor 6:9-12, Ephesians 5:5, Matthew 25:34) The apostle John also saw in vision the future establishment of the latter. - Re 11:15, 17, 12:7-10.

That was part if the heavenly time table. God is not subject to the views of men. Too much will go wrong.

No. When it became time for Satan to be kicked out of heaven and time for those worshiping him to be trained properly to carry out his work they were soon to begin.

With so many lies in false religions of Satan's, it was going to take a generous amount of time to educate them from the beginning elementary things on up to advanced study. Unlike today, literature help DID NOT EXIST.

They had to break into small groups on a specific subject, find all the scriptures to reason what the Bible truly taught. This was unlike anything done in close to 2,000 years. Instead of doing as false religions do, just making things up, personal interpretations and other religions teachings.

Bible Students put away everything anyone believed to accept only what they could prove with the Bible. Still they had a little trouble. Celebrating Christmas for a time, before seeing his pagan it was.

Source(s): Handling beliefs this way if believing ONLY what one could prove with the Bible lead to a vastly different set if beliefs from Christendom. With help from God's holy spirit, some Biblical understanding was revealed. More later as we could handle them. That was the reason for change and adjustments in beliefs. Learning God was not Jesus, but named Jehovah, a separate individual. No trinity. Was major.
