What, if anything, is the Watchtower Organization doing for those with Coronavirus who are hurting or in need?
Samaritan’s Purse has organized a field hospital in NYC to help those in need. Will the Watchtower organization be doing anything similar for people who aren’t JW’s?
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 year agoJehovah's Witnesses: Why did Jesus have to wait 19 centuries before taking his throne?
Matthew 28:18,20 says, "Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: 'All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth...teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.'"
If Jesus had ALL AUTHORITY right after he was resurrected, why did he have to wait until 1914 to take his throne?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoJehovah's Witnesses: Could it be shown beyond reasonable doubt in a court of law that the Watchtower is who they say they are?
ie: The Faithful and Discreet Slave, the ONE true religion, God's Sole Channel of Communication, etc.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoJehovah's Witnesses: Why did Jehovah choose the Watchtower organization in 1919 at a time when the organization still had pagan practices?
The Watchtower claims the light is always getting "brighter and brighter" as (presumably) all the darkness within the organization is slowly weeded out, so why not wait until ALL the darkness was gone before picking the Watchtower Organization to be "God's sole channel of communication" on earth?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoDoes the reservior on my WaterPik contain BPA?
I recently purchased a WaterPik WP-900/910 and I see that they suggest warm water into the blue plastic reservoir. My question is: does that reservoir contain BPA and will it leech into the water I put into it, especially if it is warm water?
1 AnswerDental7 years agoHow do I calculate how long it will take to travel from...?
...Nanaimo to Duncan if I could travel 240km/h? Distance is 64.7kms.
Okay, so how long will it take to travel 64.7 kilometer @240kms per hour?
I'm sorry but I really suck at math and I'm not even sure how to work out the answer.
2 AnswersPhysics8 years agoJehovahs Witnesses: Why promote a brochure about the Trinity when it's full of half-truths and misquotes?
If a person takes the time to check the quotes used to "prove" the Trinity is pagan in origin, they will notice that where the brochure uses elipsis (...) there is important or even contradictory information missing.
Here's just one example of many: On Page 6 it "quotes" the Encyclopaedia of Religion as admitting that "theologians today are in agreement that the Hebrew Bible does not contain the doctrine of the Trinity."
THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER and the quotations put into their proper context.
The very liberal and controversial, "Encyclopedia of Religion" in this same article suggested,
"The fatherhood of God should be rethought in light of the critique of feminist theologies."
I'm willing to bet the Watchtower did not like that quote because it contradicts what they believe.
How about this one?
"Trinitarian doctrine cannot be christomonistic, excluding persons of other faiths from salvation, nor can it surrender its conviction that God is fully present in Christ."
The Watchtower obviously didn't like that one either! So why choose among them for one radical one that did agree?
Anyone who takes the time to look up each quote used in the brochure will quickly realize there are many misquotes or partial quotes with (...) that gloss over contradictory information. It just doesn't seem very honest.
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoJehovahs Witnesses: What's so great about the Watchtower organization?
Are they really necessary to understand the Bible in this day and age of information?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoJehovahs Witnesses: Is Jesus a true god or a false god?
The NWT translates John 1:1 as saying that the "Word" [Jesus] was a god."
Does that make Jesus a true god or a false god?
If he's a true god then you have 2 true Gods.
If he's a false god then why would Jehovah promote him?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoJehovahs Witnesses: Is the Watchtower a prophet? If so is it a TRUE prophet?

After reading the above link I have my doubts...
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoJehovahs Witnesses: If you question what the Watchtower teaches, are you an apostate?
Jehovah's Witnesses claim they have unity among them. Is that only because nobody questions what the Watchtower prints? If one were to question the Watchtower, would they be candidates for apostasy if they did not agree 100% with the Watchtower?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAtheists: Do you have any good reasons to be atheist?
If you were going to recommend someone be an atheist, what reasons could you give to convince someone that atheism is the way to go?
20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoJehovahs Witnesses: Why do you say Jesus was raised from the dead if he was destroyed?
If Jesus was destroyed by Jehovah, his body dissipated into gases, and then recreated from Jehovah's memory, how can you say it was the same Jesus that was raised from the dead?
If I make a toy out of wood, then burn that toy to ashes, and then build another toy out of plastic that looks exactly the same as the first one made of wood, how could I say it is the same toy?
Similarly, how is the human body of Jesus completely destroyed, dissipated into gases, then recreated as a spirit being, how can you say it is the SAME Jesus? What exactly is the same?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoJehovahs Witnesses: Why does Isaiah 9:6 refer to Jesus as "Eternal Father"?
Isaiah 9:6 ~ "For there has been a child born to us, there has been a son given to us; and the princely rule will come to be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." (NWT)
1. How can Jesus be "Eternal Father" if he was created?
2. Wouldn't that mean you have TWO Eternal Fathers; Jesus and Jehovah?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoJehovahs Witnesses: Is Jesus Christ good?
Mark 10:18 says, "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God."
The Bible says there is none righteous (Rom.3:10). Well, I'll be the first to admit that I am not righteous, or sinless, or perfect. But there IS someone who is perfect: Jesus Christ. Would you say Jesus is not good?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoJehovah's Witnesses: Why does Thomas exclaim "my Lord and my God" to Jesus?
If Thomas is referring to Jesus as God, but Jesus is not God (as the Watchtower claims), why does Jesus let Thomas get away with such a blasphemous statement? Why didn't Jesus correct him and say something like "cool your jets, Tom, I'm a fellowservant of Jehovah just like you, so don't call me God because that would be blasphemous" ??
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoJehovah's Witnesses: What's the difference between dissipation to gases and corruption?
The Watchtower says that Jesus' body suffered no corruption.
But it also claims that Jesus' body was dissipated into gases.
What's the difference?
If I were suddenly vaporized, would you say my body suffered no corruption?
Why does Jesus tell his disciples in Luke 24:39 to be NOT afraid because he is NOT a spirit if he actually IS a spirit?
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. What does Jesus mean when he says "it is I myself"? How can it be himself if the physical Jesus they knew was dissolved into gases?
