It isn't.
And if you think about it REAL hard, you'll figure out why YOU might have thought it is, and that the root cause of you THINKING such a thing is really just "intellectual laziness" on your part....
The reality is that about 95% of ALL music ever produced is crap, and 5% of it is inspired, and worth keeping....
If you only listen "older music", someone else has ALREADY weeded out the utter crap for you, and discarded it! So to the lazy consumer, older music sounds better!
