Grand larceny crime in NY?
I'm 20 years old, some girl I met in school convinced me to open up a bank account to get 3000 dollars. I didn't know the ends and out of everything but she put a fake check in my name, forged my signature and cashed it. All without my knowledge. Yes I gave her my card number and my bank account number. I told my friend about this and she said that's grand larceny. I didn't know until she told me, it was all illegal. I know soon the cops will be coming after me, how much trouble am I in?

You have a problem. You can't PROVE she forged your name. Your second problem is that you WILLINGLY handed over your banking info to her, and you state this on a public forum, which will come up in an investigation, fyi. Your words:
Yes I gave her my card number and my bank account number.
Banking info IS personal info not to hand out to just everyone. With that info, a person can get other personal info if they know how. You probably gave more info to this gal than you realize - it's how they work. Hackers work the same way - social engineering. They can find out all kinds of crap about you simply by talking to you.
But yes, you do need a lawyer. At 20 years old, you should in fact know better.

At least your friend has some common sense. Tell your lawyer - not random strangers on the internet.
