I need help with this recipe?

Speaking of keto meals, would someone please explain to me why 1/2 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 tbsp of coconut oil blended with 2 eggs and 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract make the 2 raw eggs safe to drink.

Thank for your help.

Whether or not it's safe to consume raw eggs depends on the eggs. Unfortunately you don't say where they are from or even which country you are going to buy them in. There are certainly SOME eggs in the world that are NOT suitable for consuming raw.

In the UK, eggs stamped with "the lion" are from hens that are certified free of salmonella. However, egg shells are porous (especially if they have been washed which, I believe, is what happens in the USA) and could, in theory, be contaminated if, for example, they had been touching raw chicken.

I'm the same age as RoyS and have consumed raw eggs (or at least things containing them) many times and would not hesitate to do so again, but I would never advise anyone else to do that unless I knew more about where the eggs came from!

Technically it doesn't, but if you're worried, buy pasteurized eggs.

if you don't want the raw eggs, cook them! the cheese and coconut oil blended into the eggs and scrambled would still be keto meal. That makes it all protein and fat with no carb which is definition of keto meal.

yip! you can seperate the eggs and "beat the whites" then fold it in, completely different result.

"safe" is a relative term when it comes to eating raw eggs.

Nothing added to a raw egg, with the exception of heat will make ALL raw eggs safe.

    (OK, maybe dehydration or chemicals)

There is nothing in mascarpone cheese or coconut oil that will make an egg that has been contaminated with salmonella or e coli or any number of "nasties" safe.

Not all eggs have been contaminated.

The chances are slim that you would have an egg that has been contaminated.

As long as the eggs you use are fresh, not cracked I would not have a problem eating a raw egg.

The exception would be if I am serving anyone that is very young, elderly, ill, has a compromised immune system I would not serve anything with raw eggs.

If you are healthy I would not worry about it at all.

Nothing 'makes the eggs safe to drink raw'; they already are safe. The chances that an egg is contaminated with salmonella is one in 20,000. That's 2 eggs, every day, for 27 years. I'm 62, and have never gotten sick from drinking homemade eggnog made with lots of raw eggs.

Raw eggs are always considered "unsafe" to consume; adding other ingredients wouldn't change this. If you can't do without them, just make sure you have fresh eggs, and remove them from the refrigerator only immediately before consuming!

I drink raw eggs every day. The likelihood is ridiculously low. You're more likely to die on the way to the store getting the eggs than eating them raw. I mean this for pasteurized eggs, pasteurized eggs are safe to drink. The likelihood of illness is higher with non-pasteurized but still reaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllyyy low.
