Will community colleges like Georgia Perimeter deny people because of a math accuplacer score for elementary algebra?
Recently, me and my friend applied to GSU 4 year university. He was recommended to the GSU perimeter campus. He has all the requirements, except he is conditionally accepted as long as he does Elementary Algebra accuplacer. He took it and got a 30, and came back saying he needed a 32 to pass, but he thinks they may have told him he can't attend at all if he doesn't get a 32 at least. I thought he would just do remedial, but is it true they'll flat out reject him? He graduated with at least 3.2 or 3.1 from hs, and his SAT scores helped him fill the other requirements. He's scared to take it again cuz he doesn't wanna hear rejection, but as a friend I wanna bring him good news....is there a low so low that a community college will reject you?

Typically, at community colleges, it means that you have to take a remedial class before you can attend college-level classes (in math, and anything that requires math as a prerequisite). Student loans might not pay for the remedial class.
Since his grades were good, he should retake the placement test, after studying the material for a week or so. But first, he needs to take to an academic advisor at the college, so he knows for sure what his next steps are.
