what do i say to my friend if i'm dating someone they don't like?

Well you say "yes I am and I want you to be happy for me" . A friend should support you no matter what even if he hates the guy which is fine but he has to respect you and your decisions

My Ex Gf, once overheard that my brothers and sisters, didn't like her.

She told about it and I confirmed SHE WAS RIGHT... they don't like You.

I told her "They don't like you, SO I FORBID YOU TO DATE THEM!!"

She said "WHAT??!!!" I smiled and reminded her, that HER RELATIONSHIP IS WITH ME. As long as we are okay with each other... "F" the world.

My Mom adored her and My Dad really really enjoyed her company and silliness.

Interesting that, that didn’t bother her, only the negative.

When her friends met me, they didn't like me either.

Months later, none of her friends were with their "then BFs" or even close friend with each other.

Her and I were still strong for about 3 more years.

If you let others dictate your HAPPINESS, You're A Puppet.

Stick with the happiness you have with your mate.

One day, your friends will Admire and Respect the choice you made.

If they don't... So what!!!, YOU WERE/ARE STILL HAPPY.

Well, I wouldn't let your friends tell you any different if you like this guy.. You're going to have to tell them that what we do is our business okay? You'll want to make it known that you do not want them involved in your relationship.

I've seen it many times, a jealous friend ruining their friends date .

Just don't give out to much info, kind of drift apart for a minute and keep little space between you and your friend but don't lose touch.

"Yes i am dating the guy", is a good response. We need to accept our friends for who they are and how they manage their lives, and if we don't like the person our friend is dating, we have to remember our friend DOES like the guy.

We ought to respect our friend's choices.... whether we like them or not.
