Loud, screeching noise under the hood.?

My car is making a loud screeching noise under. It s fine when i start it up and drives but once the needle hits the middle of the temperature gauge it gets really loud. Anyone knows the cause of this? I have a Chevy impala. Thanks!

A slipping belt or loose pulley.

    Slipping drive belt.

    Failed alternator bearings

    Failed water pump bearings.

Looking would be better than asking.

Can't tell jack without popping the hood and listening for the location of the noise - any one of the following Water pump, ac compressor, idler pulley, alternator or just a loose belt COULD be the problem.
