Real whipped cream

A big dollop of of real whipped cream. Mom and Grandma used to do this. Oh, to die for.

A good scoop of Creme Fraiche, its slight tang goes well with the sweetness of the pineapple.

Or a good hot custard, perhaps flavored with a little crystallised ginger [it compliments the pineapple].
