Should I ask my former significant other why she decided to contact me again?

Update:

Its been four years and well...the break up was not a good one. It caused me to leave to US Naval Academy, the US Marines, and three trips to the hospital for attempted suicide since....we've been texting each other again for a few minutes now. Just wondering if I should bring this up.

    Yes, if the break up messed you up that badly, you really shouldn't be playing chit chatting games, just out with it and deal.
