What are some modern examples of "writer's shows"?

Okay, so to clarify what I'm talking about: a guy in one of the "Straight Dope" message boards mentioned "writer's shows", i.e. shows that TV writers watch. It was May 2004, examples that he gave were "The Sopranos", "Alias", "The Shield" and "CSI".

Update:

I'm looking for examples of both comedies and dramas that fit the description I gave.

some that aren't just continuing story dramas:

    rick and morty

    the new yorker presents

    master of none

    black mirror

kind of amazing that well written continuing story dramas are suddenly a dime a dozen.

Of the shows that are on the air now, I'd go with the following:

    Fargo

    Better Call Saul

    Legion

    The Americans

    Orphan Black

    Game of Thrones

    American Gods
