Usa visa question K1 or cr1?
Hello everyone. Please only serious answers
My fiancé and I got engaged last week while on holiday, I am from the U.K. and he is from the usa. We are waiting for lawyers to get back to us but are very slow! I would like to know if there are any U.K. Girls who have been through this process recently and to help me out which is the best route to go through K1 or CR1? We don t want to be spending too long apart and I want to be with my love soon
Thank you in advance

A Fiance visa from UK is currently taking about 5 to 6 months, a spouse visa about 10 to 14. If speed is your preference then the K1 Fiance visa provides that. For a detailed comparison between Fiance and Spouse Visas view https://youtu.be/egTmZiFAhsU

No need for lawyers. K-1 is the fiancé visa. The US-citizen fiancé must file the petition & prove sufficient earnings to support self, any dependents, plus the fiancé. The UK fiancé remains in UK for visa interviews, etc. For UK, takes about 8-9 months if everything is in order.
For CR-1, you must be married. You still wait in your country of citizenship, have your visa interview, etc, there. Spouse visas typically take longer than fiancé visas & have been known to take twice as long.
Marriage while on tourist visa is technically visa fraud. Do NOT overstay your visa. If you are on ESTA, NO way to extend past 90 days. Violating your visa does risk being denied your fiancé/spouse visa. If you want to get back together the fastest, go home before ESTA expires, then US-fiancé files for K-1. Once you enter with K-1, you have 90 days to marry & file for Adjustment of Status to get your green card.

The K-1 is basically for people who have no other way to ever set foot on US soil, ever. Think of Muhammad from Iran who wants to marry his 55 year-old chubby and extra ugly American fiance, or that smoking hot 18-year-old massage therapist from Bangkok that wants to marry her 65 year-old American boyfriend. That doesn't apply to a Brit.
You can travel to the US visa free and get married. Thereafter your husband will file the I-130 in your behalf and after your 3 months are over (you could even overstay up to 179 days total without any ill effects), you return to the Kingdom, give notice to your job, cancel your flat, sell your dog, and eat your cat. You then attend the interview at the US consulate in London and return to the US with a CR-1 visa. The moment you arrive at the airport, you'll be a Green Card holder. Clean, smooth, good.
