Defender stretched his hand out to the side to prevent me from going to the basket after I began to drive?

So I ended up slamming into the arm and it messed up my drive. Is this a foul? If so, is it offensive or defensive? The ref didn't call it.

That's a foul and the ref messed up and so did your coach by not protesting the foul not being called by the ref.

If you moved into his outstretched arm it should not be called a foul on the defensive player, it should be called an offensive foul or called a charge, however anyone that follows basketball knows that refs either miss calls, or in some cases give the benefit of the doubt to the all star or superstar player.

If you moved into his outstretched arm it isn't a foul on his part. If he had reached in to attempt to steal the ball and hit you it would have been a defensive foul. If you run into a defender that is stationary then it would be an offensive foul, specifically called a charge.
