I need an opinion on this color scheme as well as ideas for accent colors?

So we are moving into a new house with white tile flooring in the living room, looks like this:

walls are also white.

We have a custom-made wooden cabinet/table that holds a 75 gal turtle tank that is stained a deep, dark, jade like in the photo of this color palate:

we want that to go in the living room.

We also love black shelves, we want black bookcases and a black entertainment unit for the TV to match.

We also have a beige colored cat, and in order to make the inevitable shedding of cat hair less obvious, I was thinking about a beige colored couch like this one:

And a beige large beige colored area rug.

Would these colors look ok together? Should I add green curtains and accent pillows to tie in the turtle cabinet? Should I re-paint the walls? If so, what color?

Or is this color scheme just hideous and I need to re-think?

I think a neutral color pallet is a wise choice for the largest items: flooring, walls and couch. I would not add a bunch of more green to match the turtle tank, but perhaps some decorative pillows with some green in them would work well. I also would not go with a solid rug, but one with a pattern or at least one with texture. Otherwise the room will look bland. Use a neutral print on the curtains and rug to add texture, depth and interest to the room.

The couch color you selected makes perfect sense. However, those wide pillow top arms are going out of style, so you may elect to find one that has narrower arms which will look less outdated over the course of time.

With Black and white, any other color can be an accent color.

Beige goes well with most anything. You will still have to clean up the fur .

Just don't decorate around your animals.

    Enjoy your new place .

I think you have nailed it

I love your thinking about the cat/sofa

and yes I would get "jade" accents, curtains/throws/pillows

dark greens and beiges will be a very relaxing room
