The Qur'an describes the Jesus of the Bible, and regards Jesus as a (mere) prophet, equal to Muhammad. The Qur'an speaks of Jesus, son of Mary. The Qur'an describes Jews and Christians as "the people of the book." Muhammad is reported to have read the Jewish and Christian texts which make up the Bible, prior to writing the Qur'an. But given the background of Muhammad, the Qur'an is suspect in its authenticity among the religious texts of the world.

Muhammad completely changed and made a mockery of Jesus of the New Testament into his own version of who Jesus ought to be based on his man-made religion which evolved almost seven hundred years after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

A Christian must “know” God (Jer:9:24; Jn:17:3), “love” God with all his heart (Deut 6:5; Mat:22:37, etc.) and “believe” in Christ in his heart (Acts:8:37; Rom:10:9). The God of the Bible wants man’s trust and affection without coercion.

He was warned, “‘Accept Islam and testify that Muhammad is the apostle of Allah before your neck is cut off by the sword.’ Thus [without believing] he professed the faith of Islam and became a Muslim.”6 This pattern is followed today: confess or die!
