Sure seems like it. Notice that they don't seem to have a direction anymore, other than to make Republicans miserable-even if they have to make it up along the way?
Republicans are in the White House for 3 1/2 more years, nothing they can do about that, but they have yet to start grooming who will run in 2020. Hillary will be too old.

It's mostly their refusal to understand that some people disagree with them on issues sometimes. They are dangerous because of their narrow mindedness. They tend to be smug and patronizing to everyone else.

I would also argue that most the Republican establishment is also "out of the mainstream, out of ideas and out of their minds".
